El Tesoro Reposado Tequila
El Tesoro Reposado Tequila
Aged nine to eleven months in American oak ex-bourbon barrels.
El Tesoro is crafted at the renowned La Alteña distillery in the highland town of Arandas, established in 1937. This distillery has played a significant role in shaping the evolution of premium tequilas. Originally known as El Tesoro de Don Felipe, in honor of Don Felipe Camarena, who had been growing agave and making tequila in the Los Altos region since the early 1800s, El Tesoro represents the essence of highland tequila. Under the expertise of Master Tequilero Carlos Camarena, the tequila is made using traditional methods: tahona-crushed agave, fermentation with fibers in wooden tanks, and a unique process of distilling to proof, without dilution. The water used comes from a deep underground spring on the distillery's property.
