In 2015, The Spirit of Haiti built a small natural warehouse in Port au Prince. Over time, the warehouse has been filled with previously used casks, ranging from rum casks like Caroni, Worthy Park and Bielle to Cognac, Whisky and sherry casks from Bodegas Lustau. The barrels were then filled with fresh Clairin distilled by Michel Sajous, Fritz Vaval, Faubert Casimir and Le Rocher as experimental single cask releases to understand how Clairin develops in a very light aging process.

The length of maturation is in months, not years, as the aging aims to retain the sense of raw material and soul of the spirit. These Ansyen or "aged" casks represent a new chapter in the history of Clairin as they are among the first expressions to be aged in some of the most legendary barrels in the world.

This Clairin Ansyen was distilled in 2017 by Faubert Casimir in Baradères (Batch n°5) and then aged for 49 months in ex-Mount Gay rum cask at our Spirit of Haiti warehouse in Port-au-Prince. This CA17MG-1-V2 cask was selected and bottled cask strength at 54.8% for Florida Rum Society.
